Costume Ideas

One of the most important aspects of No Escape is its representation of real characters that the audience can relate to, and whilst the depth of character development is shallow due to the length of the short, we can convey realism through the costume that we put our characters into. For all but four of the characters in the short, therefore, this means their costumes will consist of casual attire. For the four, we want these characters to look like old asylum patients, as figures of Franklin's imagination. This involves wearing props such as a gas mask, a lab coat, and bandages, and a smothering of fake blood. 

Franklin, Sam, Anonymous:

• Jeans
• T-shirt
• Hoodie 
• Casual shoes/trainers 

Franklin's Mum: 

• Dress
• OR Black trousers and a smart/casual top 

Asylum Patients: 

• Lab Coat 
• OR Casual clothes and Bandages 
• OR Casual clothes and Gas Mask 

Police Detectives: 

• Smart trousers 
• Shirt
• Tie
• Smart Shoes
